I missed posting in May. It was a very busy and stressful month. May was really just a blur. School ended and I have been studying to take a praxis test. The farm house is all buttoned up. Repairing the siding is complete. All doors have been installed and locks put on.

Our new issue is the lack of a building budget. We have had to stop until more funds can be secured. We have land we are in the process of selling, but it is just taking a long, long time. Please pray with us that our buyer's loan process would pick up some pace. As usual, we don't know what the plan is, but trusting God has this all figured out and will let us know how to proceed. Kitchen cabinets are going to be started this month. The Amish are building them. We go Thursday to talk to the person building them to finalize what we want.
We ordered the stone for our front porch and carport columns, but due to the money issue that arose, it is just sitting in our front yard for the time being.
A storm came through May 6 and the power went out at the Farm. Next morning Paul could tell the Electric Co. had been out there, however instead of fixing it they disconnected the line and took the meter!! Electric company called Paul and told him it looked like a limb had fallen on it and it was too dangerous to leave.
So here is the situation at the camper, Paul has to get up every morning to go turn the water on to make coffee. Water has to be turned on every night so he can shower and then back out to turn it off again. Now, in addition, he has to go crank a generator to get the electricity going. We have really gone backwards in our living conditions😂!!
May 5 Ice was up to his old shenanigans. Paul got a call while he was at work from a neighbor. Our bull was out in the street. Luckily, Paul was in town and was able to rush home. Paul called me and told me what was happening. I got that sickening feeling in my stomach. I knew it is not going to be an easy task getting him back up. Last time was almost a disaster and now I couldn't even be there to help Paul. I went back to the living area of my classroom and just prayed for Ice to be cooperative and to make this as easy as possible on Paul. As Paul was going around the curve on our street, there was Ice. When he saw Paul he, trotted back to the house while Paul followed behind him. Paul said he was acting like he was ready to get back in the fence.
He had him put up within just a few minutes of getting to the house. He then found his escape spot and repaired it and was back to work within an hour. Thank you Jesus for always being there!!!!
I still haven't been able to have the cows preg checked. Hoping that will be soon, however I do believe everyone may be pregnant because they have all calmed down and stopped acting so crazy!!
Candy and Wilma like to stand in their water trough, which just about kills me, because I know they have poop on their hooves😞
This past Friday Morning, I had to take my praxis test and then head to Tennessee to meet "Glass Doctor" at the farm house to see about getting glass cut for the French doors. I was within 2 miles of my exit and a tire blew🙄. I was on the phone with Paul when it happened and he came to my rescue. When he opened the car hatch to get out the spare tire, dog hair flew everywhere. I said, "Sir, I am so sorry about that, but my husband is a K9 officer and is always trashing my car with his dog!!" Paul said, "Ma'm don't worry about that. I'm a canine handler also and my wife always complains about that too"😂😂.
So, apparently, there was no way for the Glass Doctor to take exterior door measurements unless I was there to stick my hand through the glassless door and unlock it for them. So my trip to Tennessee was pointless, but since I was already there I thought I would put Ariel in a stall for her hoof trimming the next day. Sounds pretty simple...right?? One and a half hours later we get her in a stall!!! We baby talked, tried to persuade her with food, let her stand for awhile, put water in her stall, but nope she wasn't going in!! I was standing in the stall and Paul was on the other side of the stall, both of us exasperated and looking down. I said, "Uhhhhhh Paul, is that a snake?!? Yes, yes it is!!! A baby, but a snake. Paul killed it and determined it was not poisonous. Paul said, "Enough was enough. It was time to show Ariel who was boss. Just like you have to show all women." Riigghhttt🤦🏼♀️.....However, she did finally go in. Since we have had the donkeys I have never heard Ariel bray, but today we learned she could. Her and Jasmine had a whole conversation going on. I think it was the first time they had been separated.
Neither was happy about the situation!! Both did really well with their hoof trimming. It was Jasmine's first trim. She was so sweet and just buried her head into me for awhile.
Nothing ever seems to go quite how Paul and I pictured it. Farm life is hard and frustrating work and remodeling is definitely not a walk in the park. I began thinking about people in the Bible. People that proved you can go through difficult times and make it through to the other side with God as your guide.
- Job-loses everything, his children, his wealth, his livestock, his crops, his health, and even his relationship of his wife and friends. Job praises the Lord. The Lord restored Job with twice as much as he had before and blessed his latter days more than the beginning.
- David- was tormented by King Saul for many years. David had many opportunities to kill King Saul but he didn't. David struggled with faith, but didn't stay in those states for long. He concludes all the psalms with praising God and giving him glory. David was eventually anointed King of Israel
- Moses-was called to do something he didn't believe he could do. Moses had frustrations dealing with the people. With God's help he delivered his people out of Egypt.
- Joseph-was favored by his father, which caused his brothers to be jealous of him. His brothers threw him in a pit to die and then decided to sell him to Midianites, who then sell him to Ishmaelites, who then sell him as a slave to Potiphar, a wealthy Egyptian merchant. Things improve greatly for Joseph as he becomes Potiphar's right hand man, until Potiphar's wife falsely accuses Joseph of rape. That lands him in jail for approximately 10 years! While in jail he interprets a dream for the Pharaoh's butler. All Joseph ask is that the butler remember him once he's back in Pharaohs service. The butler doesn't fulfill his promise until Pharaoh has a series of disturbing dreams nearly 2 years later. At the age of 30 Joseph becomes second in command to Pharaoh. He is reunited with his family and is able to save them during the famine.
