My Christmas Wish (Matthew 17:20)

It is fall at the farm.  The leaves changing color have put on an amazing show.  During the month of October we were able to get some things done on the house.  The one that made us feel better was the painting of the outside of the house.   It no longer looks like a creepy, old house.  It is beginning to look like a home.  Everything is white, except for porch ceilings.  They are baby blue.

Paul says it keeps bugs away.  We shall see, but in the mean time it sure is pretty!!  We do plan to get some black shutters up one of these days.  During the painting, we had insulation installed and it passed inspection.  So, supposedly sheet rock will begin this week.  Paul is still battling the water and electrical issues.  You really can't make this stuff up.  We are to the point we have to laugh to keep from losing it!!

The electrician finally came out and fixed the part that failed inspection.  He said he called in another inspection, but Paul checked and it had not been called in.  Paul set up the re-inspection after paying $35 for the electrician's mistake (had to buy a reinspect permit) and the inspector would come out Thursday and inspect again.  Paul got a call on Thursday from the inspector saying paper work said it was a "final inspection", but it was suppose to say "Service Release Inspection", so for that reason he would not come out until the wording was corrected on the paper.  🤦🏼‍♀️ Really?!?!  Paul called the State inspector office and told them that the inspector‘s paper work wording was wrong and had it changed to what the inspector wanted.  Keep your fingers crossed for this Tuesday!!!

The plumber finally made it back out to the house. He installed the tankless water heater, but I can't talk about this much with out getting all out of sorts.  Needless to say, it was a very bad install!! After messaging the builder, he said he would be back out Thursday, October 28 with the plumber to get it fixed.  We still haven't seen a plumber or contractor and that stinkin' water heater still looks the same.  I'm calling a different plumber this week to correct this mess!!

My sweet husband has been working hard on my chicken coop.  He will get the tin on the roof this week. We are a little undecided about the siding.  I like the board and batten.  Paul likes the clap board.  It will probably boil down to whatever is the least expensive.  I have been painting some windows and a door for the coop.

We bought the cheapest paint and that was a huge mistake.  So now I am sanding down everything again and beginning to repaint with new paint.  I am also looking at chickens and the different hatcheries to order them from.

As I have been reading and looking for items for the house, I came across an article about putting a bible in the foundation of your house.  A local bookstore gave me 3 Bibles they said they couldn't sell due to them being marked up or damaged.  I researched bible verses for a new home and bible verses for the kid's room upstairs.  I highlighted verses in the  bibles for Brantlee and Grant.  I wrote out a prayer for both of them.  I bought tins, put the bibles in the tins and then put the tins in a 2 gallon ziplock bag.

The bibles have now been placed in the walls of their bedrooms ready for the sheet rock to go up.  I did the same for the family bible and Paul is going to put it under the house.  I then went through the house and wrote bible verses on studs of each room.  We want our family/home to be built on the Truths of God's Word.

God's word is throughout our whole home now.  My desire is for our home/family to Honor and Glorify God and to be a blessing to everyone who walks through our doors.  I hope this will be a reminder to us that we constantly need God's Truths in our lives. We must believe it, live it, trust it, apply it and pray according to His Word.

I had been looking at a foyer bench on Pottery Barn for our laundry room.  I have been watching and patiently waiting for it to go on sale.  It was regular $599 and the last time I checked, not only was it not on sale, but the priced doubled to $1099!!!!  Definitely not going to be able to purchase that!!  Paul and I was shopping in antique stores this weekend and saw wood theater seats.  We thought that might be a cute idea for the laundry room to replace the pottery barn bench I had been wanting.  When we got home, Paul did some searching on marketplace and found some theater benches that were in great condition for a much better price.  We drove to Lebanon and pick up a set.
Hoping it's the look I have in mind when we get this house put together.

Paul and I also decided against using old barn wood to make our island top.  The wood just didn't seem thick enough.  I found a mill in Madison and we bought some live edge Ambrosia Maple to make our Island top.  Can't wait to see how it turns out.

The animals are all doing good.  We had 3 cows preg checked.  Two out of 3 were pregnant.  Lita and Wilma are Pregnant, but Iris was not😞.   Saying prayers for our Iris, that Ice can take care of her.   We could tell Candy was pregnant, so we didn't get her checked by the vet.  As a matter of fact, I feel like Candy will have her baby this week.🤗.  We were suppose to put her in the birthing stall today, but it didn't happen.   She seemed to be in a bit of a mood today also😬.   Paul said he would work on that next week.  Keeping our fingers crossed for a baby girl🤞🏻.

We did get 2 more kittens last month for farm cats.  We call them Bonnie and Clyde.  They are staying in Hartselle for now until they get a little bigger and have vaccine shots.  They are pretty rambunctious.  May have to get them a "getalong" shirt!!😂

Today at the farm, Ladybugs were out in droves.  They even liked the light blue porch ceilings😂. It was really strange because they were not like that on Saturday.  I read, "Ladybugs are considered a symbol of good luck and happiness. When you see a ladybug it could be a sign of change and an announcement of good fortune and true love. This magical creature is a messenger and bearer of the best news and gives blessing to those that see it". I am hoping God sent those ladybugs today to encourage Paul and myself and to let us know good things are coming.  I know my God can do the impossible.  I have seen it in my own life.  Faith has the power to make amazing things happen. Peter had a little faith and walked on water (Matthew 14:29). A bleeding woman had a little faith and was healed after 12 years of no hope (Matt 9:20-22). A little bit of faith enabled the blind to see (Mark 10:46-52) and brought the dead back to life (Hebrews 11:35).  Faith in God makes everything possible. Matthew 17:20 says, “.... Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”  When we’ve done the hard spiritual work of acknowledging our mountains, facing difficult facts, and asking God for help, then we are ready to experience the power of God to move our mountains and make the impossible possible.  I know it seems impossible, but I am hoping, if it’s God’s Will, that we can be in our house this Christmas.  Since when has impossible ever stopped Him?

HIGHS & LOWS......ALREADY?!? (Isaiah 58:11)

The three weeks we have been farm owners, has been overwhelming, yet exciting.   One of my exciting moments was when Paul bought me a small chain saw!!  I have ask for one several times and all he would say is “No, you will cut your leg off!”🙄. Guess he thinks he may need a little help keeping everything trimmed up now. Our goal right now is getting everything cleaned up...The grass was a little out of hand by the time we got it.  Paul and I love being out there working...kids not so much.  Although, they did find a few things to do.  The mowing was so much that we enlisted the kids to help.  They did pretty good for their first time mowing.  We do have a few things we need to work on next time, like staying in a pattern!!😂. We have another plan in mind to help with the mowing, but more on that later. We have several established crepe myrtles, but they all look dead.  Matter of fact we have quite a few tre...

And Just like that its FALL...(1 Peter 1:5)

WOW, blink your eyes and fall is already in full swing.  Leaves have turned in Tennessee and already falling off the trees.  I am so glad to say goodby to the mosquitoes and chiggers.  If no one else loved me this summer, they did!!!  The drive to and from Alabama hasn't been too bad and the fall scenery has been amazing!!!  I have seen some gorgeous sunrises and actually a few sunsets on the way home.  Brantlee has transferred back to Hartselle High School, so now I have some company on the journey to and from school.  It's been nice spending time with her every morning and afternoon.  She usually retreats to her room, but now she is stuck with me 3 hours everyday.  Some days I just look at her and can't believe how much she has grown up.  Where does the time go?   Not much has been done on the inside of the house.  The weather has been so nice we have been concentrating on getting some outdoor projects done before ...
