Ready for a New Week😞!! (Lamentations 3:22-23)

We returned from our little get away to the beach refreshed....until....we got that phone call. We arrived back in Hartselle on July 20th. We left the next morning to head to Tennessee. About 30 minutes from the farm, Paul gets a call from the Maury (pronounced Murry🤷🏼‍♀️) County Water Department. They asked what he was doing to use so much water. Paul said, "What do you mean, I'm not using water."  The lady proceeded to tell us that we had used over 100,000 gallons of water recently. Yes...100,000 gallons😳. We were headed to the farm to meet with Keegan and Anna, but Paul had to go by the Skelley barn to see where all this water was going and get it turned off. Four feet under ground a faulty fitting had broke and water had been gushing out for awhile, but nothing you would have ever really noticed had you not received the phone call. We basically have been supplying the creek with water.🙄 It took 4 trips to Lowes, to our favorite aisle, aka..plumbing,  to...

Mooing right along!! ( Colossians 3:1)

We are moving right along with the renovations.   Major demo has stopped and the framers have started. Framers are doing a little more demo as they are working.  The old kitchen cabinets are finally gone.  We had been hoping to save those to use in the barn, but we were told the cabinets had been built on site and were never intended to be removed.   So they were destroyed while trying to remove them😢.  We have found all old oak hardwoods floors throughout the whole house.  The only major damage was the termites in the living room. There were a few small spots of termite damage in the kitchen.  They have framed up the dining room, butlers pantry and powdered room and removed most of the wall that was separating the living room and new foyer.  It has made the living room look so much bigger with that wall gone. All the new framing has helped level up the upstairs flooring.  There is just one other area upstairs that is still unlevel. We are n...

DEMO DAYS (Romans 12:12)

Demo began on June 30. It's a little scary uncovering everything. You never know what they will find that may add extra cost to the renovations. Our budget is super tight, so everything is major to us. So far the only thing that has turned up is termite damage on the living room floor. We are hoping and praying there is not excessive termite damage on the exterior wood siding, which is now covered with vinyl. As the sheet rock has been taken down, we have seen a lot of layers of very unique wallpaper.😊 Paul and I have completed a little work ourselves. We purchased a horse trailer awhile back. We thought we were going to Oklahoma this past weekend to purchase an additional cow and donkey. However, that fell through when they sold the wrong cow (our cow) to someone else. We did have the trailer ready to travel. I had tore out the old wood, knocked all the rust off with a steel brush and sprayed the inside with rust neutralizer. I then repainted the inside area with gray ru...
